Alice & Jack Wirt Public Library
The Alice & Jack Wirt Public Library functions as the main or central library for the Bay County Library System. It is located on the east side of Bay City, Michigan, in the downtown area. In addition to housing the largest collection of materials in the system, it includes a business resource center and core reference collection, a local history and genealogy room, a computer lab, an outdoor reading garden, several study rooms, and a large community meeting room. The administrative offices are located on the second floor.
The Wirt Public Library houses the administrative offices of The Bay County Library System provides public library materials, services, and programs for the citizens of Bay County, Michigan. It consists of a central library, three branch libraries, and a bookmobile.
The mission of the Bay County Library system is "...to promote the love of reading and foster the pursuit of knowledge by delivering quality library service which furthers the informational, educational, recreational and cultural interests of the community, thus enriching the quality of life for all county residents."
