Alma Downtown

The Alma Downtown Development Authority formed in 1996 and working with the City of Alma, serves to strengthen and support existing businesses and encourage new business opportunities in the downtown Alma Central Business District.

The DDA mission is to lead the community in the enhancement and revitalization of the downtown district by creating and implementing a development plan, promote economic growth and encourage historic preservation and restoration of the historically significant buildings in the downtown and surrounding area. The DDA also works closely with the Alma Action Association to promote community activities to assist the downtown property owners and businesses in developing a viable downtown for the citizens of Alma and Gratiot County.
