Bodyright gym was established in December of 2003 by Bryce and Julie Marchington. Bryce began his athletic career as a martial artist very early in life. Bryce started karate when he was 7 years old and soon became a contender on the national karate circuit. At age 12, he was recognized as the Junior Black Belt competitor of the year. Bryce also earned a Silver medal at the Junior Olympics at age 12. At age 17, he opened his first karate school named Marchingtons Martial Arts Studio and quickly developed a strong team that joined the NBL (National BlackBelt League) World Circuit. Within a couple of years Bryce expanded his karate school to a larger location and changed the name to Karate World. We soon realized on the national circuit that there were other schools around with the same name and Bryce later changed the name once more to "Team Fire & Ice Karate Systems".

While competing on the world karate circuit, Bryce was also attending the University of the Southwest with a major in Sports Medicine at the same time. Although martial arts had always been what Bryce wanted to do, he knew that Hobbs was not big enough to ever support a family just from a karate studio. This is where the dream for BodyRight first began. There were always dreams of having a fitness center along with a karate school but knew it would be a difficult road getting there.

Bryce competed on the NBL throughout his Junior year of college. During his junior year he had his best year of competition. Bryce finished with 5 - #1 Regional seeds, 1 - #2 National seed and finished 3rd at the World Championships in Las Vegas, NV and 3rd at the SuperGrands World Games in Colorado Springs, Co. Due to his Senior year of college in 1998, Bryce decided to take a year off of competing to finish school. During the ten years of competing on the NBL circuit Bryce's students have given him 1 World Champion, 6 Runner Up World Champions, 9 - 3rd Places and numerous 4th -8th at the SuperGrands World Games. Bryce's students have had the privilege to compete in Hollywood, Colorado Springs, San Antonio, Houston, Niagra Falls and the Savannah World Championships.

Upon finishing College in 1999, Bryce was given the Athletic Directors position for Wackenhut Corrections. Right away Bryce was sent to Defensive Tactics Instructors course and would soon become a lead instructor at the NM Corrections Academy teaching CPR, Fitness, Chemical Agents and Defensive Tactics. While working at Wackenhut and the Academy Bryce was able to increase his knowledge in defensive tactics and fitness. He was in charge of all inmate activities at the prison and soon became certified as a Personal Trainer. During his last year at Wackenhut Bryce began putting together a business portfolio and getting research on opening a fitness facility. In September of 2003, Bryce found our current location and worked for 4 months remodeling the building. Bodyright opened for business on December 20, 2003. Since our opening we have grown into Lea Countie's largest Health club. Bodyright currently offers Knuckle Up Boxing, Team Fire & Ice Karate, Knuckle Up Kickboxing, Tanning, Yoga, Cardio Kickboxing, Zumba, Massage, Weights, Cardio and Personal Training.
