The Brenham heritage Museum is committed to fostering and promoting the history, art, and culture of Washington County, Texas.
The Brenham Heritage Museum is a museum presenting the rich history and culture of Brenham and Washington County. Our exhibits range from local tradition to art to the Civil War. The Museum has collections of cameras, wedgewood, militaria, and much more! Free tours available. Children and students are always free. Groups welcome.
The Brenham Heritage Museum acts as an agent for the conservation and preservation of the heritage of Brenham and Washington County. Our duty to the tangible and intangible heritage of our region is our highest ideal.
The BHM is housed inside a restored early 20th century Post Office. Our collections include historic regional photographs, a collection of 19th and early twentieth century lamps, and artifacts and images relating to business and commerce in old Brenham. We have an archaeology collection, an antique dentist's chair, and exhibits honoring and recognizing some of our local veterans. We even have some local art.
