Cain Center and Cain Park
The Cain Center sits nestled in the heart of the beautiful, 85-acre Cain Park which is completely accessible via a walking-jogging trail. Many visitors come to the Cain Center to enjoy the spectacular view overlooking Cain Park. Some locals visit the center to take daily walks down the long corridors, affording them the comforts of the indoors, regardless of the weather outside.
Whether a small business meeting, family reunion, catered luncheon, concert or large arts fair, the Cain Center can provide an excellent location for the event. The spacious Multi-Purpose Hall houses regular aerobic classes, serves as a large banquet room and is the assembling place for conventions. Other rooms are perfect for lectures, seminars, birthday parties and wedding receptions.
A full-service athletic facility is located on the lower level and here guests will find 11 treadmills, 4 elliptical cross-trainers, 4 incumbent bikes, a complete circuit training system of machines, a free weight room, one racquetball court, a junior-Olympic indoor pool, hot tub, steam room, dry sauna, and complete locker rooms. Although access to the athletic facility is by membership only, guests staying in local hotels are provided complimentary access during their stay in Athens by showing their hotel room key to the attendant.
Upon exploration of the grounds, guests to Cain Park will find 4 tennis courts, picnic areas, a catch and release fishing pond, an 18-hole disc golf course, swing sets and playground equipment.
Each season, the athletic fields of Cain Park welcome baseball and softball tournaments from around the state. Six athletic fields are divided into two groups of three each and offer a baseball field (permanently maintained by Trinity Valley Community College), 2 Girls' softball fields (leased by the Texas Teenage Baseball Association), 2 softball fields and a practice baseball field - the use of which is coordinated by the Cain Center, and a large soccer field (available on a first-come, first-served basis).
