Cambridge Main Street
Our Mission
To capture the soul and talent of Cambridge by delivering energetic, fresh, and quirky experiences that attract individuals who will want to invest in Cambridge.
Our Vision
An historic and vibrant
Cambridge downtown district with an abundance of visitor and resident activity, embraced by preserved architectural integrity.
In early 2003, a small group of citizens, business owners and public officials began working towards a plan to breathe new life into the historic district of downtown Cambridge. Like many small communities, retailers struggled to compete with shopping malls and big box retailers; students went off to college, but few returned. The solution was the proven strategies of the Main Street Four-Point Approach™. Cambridge became an official Main Street community in January of 2004.
Our Historic District encompasses the downtown shopping area along Wheeling and Steubenville Avenue. Our main street is Wheeling Avenue which is old Route 40 - the National Road. Located at the crossroads of Interstates 70 & 77, Cambridge is nestled in the scenic, rolling hills of southeast Ohio. It serves as the county seat of Guernsey County.
