Thank You! Your rating has been saved.

The Carnegie Art Center is the largest visual art center in south central Minnesota. Founded in 1979, the Mankato Area Arts Council has become a vital part of the area's cultural fabric and history.

The Carnegie Art Center was added in 1981 to the National Register of Historic Places. The art center hosts monthly gallery exhibitions featuring the work of regional artists, sponsors art education programs and runs the Broad Street Gallery Gift Shop located in the art center.

The Carnegie Art Center is a community-based, nonprofit arts organization committed to strengthening local visual arts. Over the last 29 years, the work and dedication of hundreds of volunteers and generous financial support of the community has enabled us to restore and transform the historic Carnegie into a beautiful venue for visual art, performances, exhibits and special community events.

This extraordinary landmark is a vital haven for artists and non-artists alike. There are many opportunities here for you to invest in the artistic life of the community and participate in the preservation of our local heritage.

As one of the only Mankato arts organizations that owns and operates its own building, the Carnegie often offers other non-profits use of the upstairs rooms for arts training, Board meetings and community gatherings. The Carnegie has been an active member of the Mankato Area Arts Coalition for the Arts (MACA) since its inception in 1998.
