Champlain Valley Transportation Museum (CVTM)

Thank You! Your rating has been saved.

The Champlain Valley Transportation Museum (CVTM) was founded in 2000 by a group of car and history enthusiasts from the Plattsburgh area. What began as an automobile museum has grown to cover many more forms of transportation. The foundation of CVTM is the Lozier Motor Company, an automobile manufacturing business during the early 1900s that built some of the most exquisite and expensive vehicles during that time period. CVTM is dedicated to exploring, interpreting, and celebrating the region's rich transportation history.

"The mission of the Champlain Valley Transportation Museum is to preserve, interpret, exhibit, and educate regarding transportation history and artifacts in the Champlain Valley."

About Kids' Station

KIDS' STATION is an exciting Children's Museum where children can learn and grow. It is an interactive and hands-on environment that allows children to use their imagination to discover, explore, and create.

The Kids' Station exhibits and activities are not limited to transportation and are designed to provide children with the opportunity to explore many different experiences. Champlain Valley Transportation Museum, which the Kids' Station is a part of, covers the past, present, and future of transportation and has exhibits that appeal to young visitors, including a Hot Wheels Exhibit, a model train layout with a running train, and a real Vulcan Locomotive they can climb into.

Kids' Station hosts and participates in events at the museum and around the community, all of which are dedicated to engaging children in fun and exciting learning experiences. These family events include: Tractor Day, Family Fun Day, Family Movie Night, Making Boats and, through a continuing partnership with Mountain Lake PBS, early childhood reading hour with themes like Thomas the Train and Curious George. Also, through its partnership with Clarkson University, the CVTM/Kids' Station has brought "The Robots Are Coming" and "Battle Bots" to the area. These events create an opportunity for families to get involved and learn together!
