Chappell Hill Lavender Farm
The Dream...
With 23 majestic rolling acres, a love for gardening and a vision, Jim and Debbie McDowell have created a relaxing garden retreat just north of the quaint town of Chappell Hill.
After several years of traffic, congestion and the corporate community of Houston, they set their sights on a quiet, serene lifestyle far away from the hustle and bustle of metropolitan living. You might be surprised that their previous business careers could evolve into something so different, but they both say the journey was well worth it.
An Oasis for the Soul! The aromatic lavender farm with its quaint surroundings and scenic hillside view is located approximately 8 miles north of the historic town of Chappell Hill. The fields which consist of 3000 lush plants, cascade down over several rolling acres to a large gazebo and pond which make a peaceful setting for picnics or just relaxing with a cool glass of lavender tea or lavender lemonade.
The beautiful farm is nestled in the heart of bluebonnet country and is located just off of the Texas Independence Trail. The location of the farm creates a delightful day excursion with so many other attractions situated close by. The Lavender Patch gift shop offers many handmade lavender products and unique gift items.
During the cutting season which usually begins in August, you can casually stroll the fragrant rows and cut your own fresh lavender. The farm and gift shop are open to the public on weekends from March through November. Tour groups are welcome on weekdays by appointment and there is no admission to visit the farm.
If you're looking for a relaxing day trip, you won't want to pass up the opportunity to experience the beauty and charm of Chappell Hill Lavender Farm.
