Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal
Originally built in 1933 as a train station, Union Terminal is a National Historic Landmark and local treasure. The building has had many lives, including one as a shopping mall, but in 1990 it officially opened as Cincinnati Museum Center. This art deco gem is our most precious artifact and is beloved by Cincinnatians and out-of-towners alike. In 2007, it was voted one of the country's most popular buildings by the American Institute of Architects.Hear from our director of the Cincinnati History Library and Archives and history collections on the original proposals submitted for Union Terminal, before the city decided to build it in the West End. Can you imagine a train station on the riverfront? Check it out!
