MISSION STATEMENT

Collective Visions Gallery is an association of West Sound Professional Artists working together to expand awareness of and make available for purchase contemporary visual art. We employ a program of exhibits, lectures, concerts, and other art related events to communicate ideas, build community, enrich and educate our audience.

HISTORY

Our doors opened on November 1st 1994 as the Washington Avenue Art Gallery. The Washington Avenue Art Gallery, originally dubbed WAAG, was located in the Enetai Building which has now been torn down to make way for Bremerton's new convention center. It was the second gallery to open in downtown Bremerton, forming the core of the Arts District along with Amy Burnett Gallery. These two galleries instituted the monthly First Friday Art Walks, the first of its kind in the west sound area. They were later joined by the Artists Edge, Metropolis and Glitz galleries, as well as many other downtown shops and museums. In 1996 the gallery moved into its current location in the old McBride's Hallmark building and was renamed Collective Visions.

TODAY

Collective Visions continues as an artist-owned and operated gallery and currently represents works by over 20 Puget Sound artists. The artists produce artwork in many media, including oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings; drawings in pastel, pencil, and charcoal; etchings, monoprints, and collographs; wood carvings; sculpture in stone, wood, and metal; a variety of functional and artistic ceramics; color and black and white photography and digital mediums as well.

We are located at 331 Pacific Avenue, in the heart of downtown Bremerton, on the corner of 4th and Pacific and are open Tuesday through Saturday 10am-5pm, and other times by appointment.

On the first Friday of each month Collective Visions plays host to a gala art opening from 5-8pm where we feature works by one of our artists in our Feature Gallery and display new works by the other Collective Visions artists throughout. On the third Friday of each month the gallery also hosts a monthly series of concerts. For more information please see the concerts page for details.

If you are interested in utilizing our space for your next party or reception please contact our gallery director at 360-377-8327 for more information!
