Interdisciplinary. Collaborative. Catalyst.

These are a few words that describe the mission of The College of Wooster Art Museum. Working across disciplines and programs, the museum presents six to eight exhibitions in the Sussel Gallery and the Burton D. Morgan Gallery each year. Exhibitions alternate between those featuring course-focused projects, the permanent collection, exhibitions of regional, national, and international artists, and faculty and student-focused exhibitions.

The College of Wooster Art Museum began as a small gallery in the 1930s to support the educational programs of the College. Since then, the museum has grown in space, collections, and its mission, bringing diverse, high-quality exhibitions to The College of Wooster campus community and to the community at large. Rotating exhibitions feature Wooster faculty and students, regional, national, and international artists, traveling exhibitions, and an annual exhibition selected from the permanent collections.

Nationally and internationally recognized contemporary artists that have exhibited at Wooster include: Miriam Schapiro, Audrey Flack, Hung Liu, Ken Aptekar, Ann Hamilton, William Kentridge, Lorna Simpson, Jim Campbell, Mel Kendrick, Laylah Ali, Shahzia Sikander, Marcel Dzama, Hiraki Sawa, Shirin Neshat, David Nash, and Roxy Paine.

All exhibitions take place during the academic year and are FREE and open to the public.

We look forward to seeing you in the galleries!
