The Community Theatre League is a volunteer-based, live theatre group based in Williamsport, PA. With large-scale musicals and plays, concerts, theatre camps and workshops, and student opportunities, CTL is a vibrant part of Downtown Williamsport.

History

In 1976, five business oriented people decided to create a different type of community theatre organization. There would be no membership dues and no annual meetings. Auditions would be open to anyone with or without experience, and a structure for supporting each organizational function would be established. Three founders are actively involved today and the organization has grown to include hundreds of volunteers.

From auditoriums and parish halls to a refurbished Kingdom Hall on Washington Boulevard, CTL now makes its home in the McDade Trade and Transit Centre, a vital part of downtown Williamsport. CTL now produces 10-12 plays and hosts up to 10 special concert events a year. In addition, the facility is equipped with a technologically integrated sound and light system which is perfect for business seminar and meeting rentals. What a change from the black box theatre of old!

Participation is membership in the Community Theatre League and to join, people need only to express the interest to become involved. With our home and growing corps of volunteers, CTL embraces the 21st century with excitement and enthusiasm.
