A CHILDREN'S HANDS-ON COOKING SCHOOL.

We offer culinary education covering a wide range of cooking techniques, along with safe food handling, etiquette and nutrition. We provide a fun and relaxed environment where children of all ages will build confidence and be encouraged to use their creativity in the kitchen. Whether participating in our individual classes, cooking series, summer camps, home school courses or field trips, your kids will have so much fun, they won't even know they're learning.

FUN FOR ADULTS TOO.

We offer demonstration classes and hands-on workshops. Cook along with your kids at a parent/child class, or come create meals and enjoy the company of friends or friends-to-be at our adult events. At our "Lunch & Learn" classes, you will learn new cooking techniques and recipes while enjoying lunch with one of our fun and experienced chefs.

THE PERFECT PARTY PLACE.

We provide a fun and unique venue for birthday parties, dinner parties, corporate events, showers, sports team parties, boy/girl scout events, or any other special event you can imagine.

About Us

Shelley and Rick grew up in the Bay Area and opened Cucina Bambini in April 2008 to fulfill their dream of creating a fun and unique business that they can build together. They have two teenage children, Ryan and Maddie, both of whom have loved helping in the kitchen since they were toddlers.

In 1997 Shelley and Rick founded Ballard Montessori School, which they grew to have an enrollment of over 100 students in less than two years and operated for nearly 10 years. Opening Cucina Bambini was a great way to build on this experience by combining their love for cooking with Shelley's background in education and business. Shelley can be found at Cucina nearly every day, running the business and working in the kitchen, and Rick helps when he can (when he's not working his day job as general counsel of local software company.)
