Curwood Castle
Curwood Castle stands on the banks of the Shiawassee River near the home of James Oliver Curwood, one of America's foremost authors of adventure novels and an early advocate of environmental conservation. Set in Owosso, among one of the richest collections of historic homes and buildings in the Midwest, this replica of a Norman chateau was built in 1922 and served as James Oliver Curwoods' writing studio. The beautiful castle was used by Curwood until his death in 1927. It is now a museum and open to the public Tuesday-Sunday, 1-5pm. The castle is closed for the month of January.

It is said that Curwood Castle is Owosso's most unique historical landmark. The Castle is located in Curwood Castle Park overlooking the Shiawassee River and is open to the public 1-5 p.m. daily except Monday.
