Cypress Grove Nature Park
Cypress Grove is a preserve for indigenous wildlife, waterfowl, plants and trees. Just minutes from downtown Jackson and easily accessible from Interstate 40, the Park annually attracts tens of thousands of visitors. It offers over a mile of winding, elevated boardwalk through a cypress forest. The Park's features include: Rockwell Observation Tower, 25 acre Wood Duck Lake, Killdeer Pond, and the Aerie Trail Raptor Center.
A sanctuary for injured hawks, eagles, owls and other birds of prey, the Raptor Center is also an educational facility. The Park regularly offers educational classes and programs on nature, wildlife and ecology.
In addition to education and preservation, Cypress Grove Nature Park is a favorite location to walk, fish or simply enjoy the serenity of the cypress forest. Gazebos and benches along the walkway provide quiet spots to rest and observe nature. Visitors may spot ducks, heron, beaver, deer or any of the waterfowl or wildlife that make the park their home.
Cypress Grove Nature Park is located on West Airways Blvd. (Hwy. 70 west) in Jackson, TN and is open seven days a week, 7:30am until dusk. Facilities include a picnic pavilion and restrooms. Group tours are available by appointment. Admission to the park is free.
