Dallas Holocaust Museum

The Dallas Holocaust Museum/Center for Education and Tolerance teaches about the past, to learn for today, in order to impact the future. A not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) since 1984, at our inception we were known as the Dallas Memorial Center for Holocaust Studies and were located in the basement of the Jewish Community Center building on Northaven Road in North Dallas. A group of local survivors created the Holocaust Center to preserve the memory of what they had endured.

As the center welcomed more visitors, the need to expand became more and more apparent. In 2005, the renamed Dallas Holocaust Museum/Center for Education and Tolerance opened at its transitional location in the historic West End district. We are planning to erect a larger, free-standing facility on the site that we have purchased at the north-west corner of Houston and Pacific streets.

In the past year, we reached more than 27,000 students and hosted an additional 22,000 walk-in visitors.
