The non-profit Detroit RiverFront Conservancy was formed in 2003 with the mission of bringing public access to Detroit's Riverfront and serving as a catalyst for economic development in the city. The ultimate vision is to develop five and a half miles of riverfront from the Ambassador Bridge to just east of the MacArthur (Belle Isle) Bridge.

Thanks to the strength of our public/private partnership, the Detroit RiverFront Conservancy celebrates the successful completion of three miles of development on the east Riverfront, including pavilions, plazas, parks and green space, all connected by the ever popular RiverWalk. Already it is becoming an extension of Detroiters' backyards and a not-to-be-missed destination for visitors.he Detroit Riverfront Conservancy is pleased to announce the first of several planned installations of public art along the riverfront.

The Public Art Program of the Detroit RiverFront Conservancy celebrates the City's unique historic, cultural, natural and human character by inspiring a vibrant and compelling experience, open and accessible to all.

Through the selection and installation of public art works of the highest merit, we endeavor to use the power of the art in educating, challenging and engaging a richly diverse community and creating a world-class destination that fosters civic pride.
