The Dickinson Museum Center is an art and history museum complex that serves the region of southwestern North Dakota.

Ethnic origins are preserved at the Dickinson Museum Center. The Joachim Regional Museum features art, history exhibits, and events. Research is also available. Summer tours of eleven historical buildings are available at the Prairie Outpost Park. Housed inside the Prairie Machinery Building, the implements of farming are on display along with the stories of their contribution to the area.

The coordinator of the Dickinson Museum Center also serves as Historic Preservationist for the City of Dickinson.

The Historic Preservationist serves as staff liaison to the Historic Preservation Commission (HPC) for the city. The Dickinson Historic Preservation Commission meets the third Thursday of each month at 4:00 p.m. MT. Meetings are held in the Osborn Room at the Dickinson Museum Center/Joachim Museum.
