Discovery Playhouse
The mission of Discovery Playhouse is to create fun, educational and interactive experiences for children and caregivers as they play, discover and learn.
Explore the many exciting, interactive exhibits in this fabulous children's museum, located in Downtown Cape Girardeau! Ideal for children ages 11 and younger, our current 7,500 sq feet of exhibit space is a perfect place to play! and learn! Shop in the grocery store, become a dentist, splash in the Secret Water Garden or learn about money at the bank! "Grandma Ruth's Farm" where you can milk a cow, harvest veggies or sell your produce in the near by grocery store! Young children can join in the fun as they uncover the magic of "Pollywog Pond" in their kid-sized fishing boat. Kids can become caregivers for the newborn babies in "Southeast Health-y Beginnings." New "Air Play" exhibit coming summer 2013. Spend hours laughing, playing, and learning at Discovery Playhouse.
How do we fight the spread of germs at Discovery Playhouse? Throughout the day and every evening, our Museum Associates use Simple Green to disinfect toys/surfaces. We have hand sanitizer available at the front desk and our Water Play exhibit even has a constantly running ionization water filtration system! We recently implemented our "icky baskets" where caregivers can place toys that wind up in little ones' mouths! Our top priorities are to be fun, clean and safe.
