Directly south, Downtown Angola has an historic residential neighborhood. Nestled to the west of that neighborhood lies Trine University (formerly Tri-State University), a private, non-denominational university ranked by U.S. News and World Report as one of the midwest's best colleges in 2008, 2009 and 2010. Also, within the Downtown boundaries to the east is Cameron Memorial Hospital, a not for profit, independent facility which serves the residents of Steuben County and the surrounding areas.
Downtown Angola is centrally located between Chicago, Detroit, Indianapolis and Cleveland. Driving time to each is approximately 3 hours. It is easily accessed from Interstate 69 and is the crossroads of US 20 and State Road 127.

Currently, our downtown is going through a revitalization effort. The City of Angola, whose offices are also located in the downtown square, have updated sidewalks in the Public Square. Construction of the sidewalks on the square was completed in 2010.
New sidewalks on the Public Square provide a more pedestrian friendly environment with beautiful foliage and sitting areas.
