Downtown Dalton

Thank You! Your rating has been saved.

Downtown Dalton is nestled in the valley between the Cumberland and Blue Ridge mountains. Geographically, it is Georgia's fifth largest downtown district. Approximately 3,000 employees and 300 businesses, ranging from eclectic gift shops and unique specialty stores to leading professional firms and financial institutions call Downtown home. In 2006, the completion of a $7 million downtown streetscape project brought charming sidewalks, historic light fixtures and colorful plantings to further beautify the historic downtown area.

DOWNTOWN DALTON DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY

The Downtown Dalton Development Authority (DDDA), a public corporation created in 1981 by the General Assembly of Georgia for the purpose of revitalizing Dalton's downtown area, is responsible for the development and promotion of trade, commerce, industry, and employment opportunities within the central business district. The preservation of Downtown Dalton's heritage and the expansion of its role as the economic, technological, professional, and cultural center for the Northwest Georgia Region have created a favorable climate to attract new businesses and support those already located in Downtown Dalton.
