Downtown Huntsville
Main Street is a downtown redevelopment program at work in over 40 states and over a thousand cities nationwide. It uses a combination of economic development, infrastructure improvements, promotions and a cooperative effort that seeks to revitalize downtown areas. The Texas Historical Commission administers the Texas Main Street Program and designated Huntsville as a Main Street City in 2001.

Mission
The mission of Huntsville Main Street is to encourage entrepreneurship and preserve a vital downtown through the Main Street Four-Point Approach of economic development, organization, design and promotion.

Infrastructure Improvements - Helping to create a physical environment that is attractive and conducive to economic development
Economic Development - Promote viable and diverse economic development for retail, residential, medical, health, food service, entertainment, and arts & culture
Marketing & Promotional Events - Increase public awareness, strengthen positive perceptions and promote the downtown area as an economic, social and cultural center for our community
