You will discover exciting public spaces, art, historic buildings, antiques, professional services, and unique stores operated by entrepreneurs who care about the downtown and customer service. You can live your life right in our neighborhood districts!

In the future Downtown Hutchinson is a center for community events, unique shops and services, and casual and upscale dining and entertainment. Downtown living is popular with a mix of affordable and market rate housing centered on the Wiley and Plaza Towers buildings. The area is home to working artists, musicians, dancers, and unique service and retail operations that have joined the older retail, service, professional and antique districts. The Fox and Flag theatres anchor the entertainment district featuring local and nationally known artists.

The new; year-around Farmer's Market Building, provides spaces for professionals and entrepreneurs who are encouraged to locate in the Downtown area to develop new unique retail and service operations to serve the expanding downtown customer base. People stroll along well lit sidewalks alive with residents, visitors, and fun seekers enjoying the Hutchinson Art Center, Fox Theatre, public art, outdoor dining, and open businesses. Public green spaces feature a river walk, amphitheater, a water park, and many other beautiful park areas. The downtown is easily accessible from all areas of the community via walking and bike paths. Visitors to the Kansas State Fairgrounds, Cosmosphere, Underground Salt Museum and other local attractions join local and trade area residents to visit and enjoy Downtown Hutchinson.

About Downtown Hutchinson & DHRP

The Downtown Hutchinson Revitalization Partnership is comprised of a Board of Directors which includes a Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, and other representatives of downtown; four committees, people in the community who have become "members" by paying membership dues, and many others.

These individuals, all volunteers, work on the continued revitalization of Downtown Hutchinson. Committees and members work with downtown property owners to adopt a specific approach and agenda for physical improvements to buildings and businesses; they work on fundraising efforts and help plan downtown events; they identify market opportunites, work on new uses for historic commercial businesses, and work at strengthening existing businesses and recruiting new businesses.
