Downtown Lock Haven, Inc. promotes the promise of Lock Haven with the focus on revitalizing the downtown through community and economic development programs. Through Downtown Lock Haven, Inc., business owners, merchants, community volunteers and elected officials work to promote and preserve the economic viability as well as the historic value of Lock Haven.
Downtown Lock Haven is following a proven path of community development and revitalization by implementing the principles of the National Main Street Program, which includes four key areas:
- Organizational development
- Community design
- Community promotion
- Economic restructuring
Downtown Lock Haven, Inc. has once again been recognized as a 2012 Nationally Accredited Main Street Program for outstanding organizational performance in sustaining a main street effort by the Pennsylvania Downtown Center and The National Trust for Historic Preservation.
Facade Improvement Grant Applications Available!
Downtown Lock Haven, Inc., in cooperation with the City of Lock Haven, recently received a $50,000 Façade Improvement grant from the PA Department of Community and Economic Development. In the nine years since the Façade Program has been in existence, Downtown Lock Haven's Main Street Program has received a total of $340,000 in state funding. These grants funds generated an additional $290,000 in private investment in the City's Central Business District. Owners of small retail, service or commercial businesses located in the City's Central Business District may be eligible to receive a maximum grant of $5,000 or fifty (50%) percent of the total project costs, whichever is less.

Applications are taken on a first come, first served basis until all funds are expended. There is a $50 non-refundable application fee, which will be waived for members of Downtown Lock Haven, Inc.
