Downtown Sikeston

The mission of Historic Downtown Sikeston (HMDG) is to enhance the economic and cultural vibrancy of Downtown Sikeston, as well as its historic identity. Using consensus-based comprehensive planning and the Main Street Four Point Approach of organization, economic development, promotion, and design, HMDG will address the downtown area's problems and opportunities, making Downtown Sikeston an attractive place to live, work, visit, shop, and invest.

The Historic Midtown Development Group, a 501c3 non-profit organization doing business as Historic Downtown Sikeston, was established with the assistance of community-minded individuals, the downtown merchants and the Sikeston Area Chamber of Commerce. This group is made up of many caring and concerned citizens who wish to make Downtown Sikeston the thriving business district that it once was in its prime, by preserving the historic integrity of existing buildings, planning future development to complement existing structures and preserving Sikeston's downtown heritage for future generations to enjoy.
