Dunklin County Library
Welcome to the Dunklin County Library. We hope that you come often and that your visits are both enjoyable and beneficial.
Our system consists of a Main Library, located in Kennett, and seven Branch Libraries - one in each of the County's larger towns. Together, we serve a population of more than 32,000.
All of the libraries are connected electronically and share a common database. Material at all libraries may be viewed on the electronic catalog and requested from the others. The Library collection of approximately 140,000 items offer a constellation of library categories to indulge even the most sophisticated of its 10,000 patrons. The Reference Section is especially well regarded for its exhaustive trove. A large area of the library is occupied by a comprehensive Genealogy Section, manned exclusively by expert volunteers. Hundreds of microfilm, manuscripts, and periodicals are researched daily by visitors from all over the United States. Popular too, is the extensive collection of audio and video tapes on which various citizens have recorded local history, folklore and tall tales.
