The key element of dance training every dance teacher, parent, and dancer should know is, dance education and training is always developing and never stops! We feel it is very important that every dance educator establishes a continuing education routine. We attend workshops, conventions and use other available tools to better ourselves as educators and dancers. We know and fully understand the importance of this element and promise to continue our education of the most current and effective techniques and styles of dance.


SHARON HARTMAN , Co-Owner, Instructor

Sharon has over 35 years of dance and teaching experience. Her expertise is in Ballet and she also teaches Tap, Jazz and Modern. She has been teaching in Winnemucca since 1998. Sharon is originally from Washington State and began her studies with the Gio-Ann studio in Federal Way and performed with the Federal Way Ballet Theatre under the direction of Nedra Drago. She also studied under Perry Brunson and Ray Bussey (Seattle Dance Ctr), Jo Emery and Jan Column of Tacoma, WA. Other studies included summer intensives at the Centrum Foundation with the First Chamber Dance Company of Seattle, Western Washington University, Tremaine Conventions, Company Dance, and Dance Olympus. She has performed and choreographed in Musical Theatre productions of Godspell, Brigadoon, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and other children's productions. She has also been the director and choreographer of the Nutcracker Ballet in Winnemucca. Sharon enjoys spending her free time outdoors with her husband Mitch and being "Nana" to her first grandchild Benjamin.

SARA FILIPPE,Co-Owner, Instructor

Sara has over 25 years of dance and theatre experience and is in her 10th year of teaching in Winnemucca. Her studies have included Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop and Acting. She studied Ballet under Blake Albert Little (formerly of Joffrey and Royal Winnipeg Ballet), Nedra Drago, Jan Column, and others in Washington State. Her performances include many recitals, The Nutcracker Ballet, musical theatre productions of Annie, Wizard of Oz, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and others with the Heavier Than Air Family Theatre in Kent, WA. Sara started directing while still in high school and went on to attend California Lutheran University majoring in Theatre. She not only had the opportunity to perform in college, but received working experience in stage management and as a costume assistant. She was assistant director for Little Women at Dixie State College in St. George, Utah before coming to Winnemucca. She has worked as Assistant Director, Stage Manager and Choreographer for the Nutcracker Ballet in Winnemucca. Sara currently teaches Pre-Ballet, Ballet, Jazz, Theatre Dance, Hip Hop & Contemporary. Sara is the proud mama of Benjamin and wife of Dustin "Flip".
