In good times and in uncertain times, the influence of art in our community has the potential to unite, refresh and restore the spirit. Since its inception in the summer of 2000, the FOOTHILLS ARTSociety has been on a mission to promote and develop the arts for the continued education, creativity and fulfillment of Northern New Yorkers. Many programs in visual arts, theater, dance, writing, children's workshops, and music have been sponsored through FOOTHILLS ARTSociety in service to the community.
During the decade that Foothills ARTSociety has been active, the not for profit organization has brought a wide variety of arts events to the area. Puppet shows, concerts, plays, dance performances, art workshops and gallery exhibits are just a few of the opportunities that have been offered for children and adults in the greater Malone area. Membership in Foothills may be active or passive. There are many different levels of membership and the fee of $10 for senior/student, $25 for individual and $30 for family is kept small to encourage membership. Membership also includes $50 for Friend, $100 for Patron, $200 for Advocate and $500 for Philanthropist. Foothills is dedicated to developing artistic awareness and creativity for people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities by supporting artists, inspiring new talent and bringing visual and performing arts to the community at large.
