France Park
Camping, fishing, hiking? All this and more! Located 4 miles west of Logansport on US 24 (see map below), Indiana residents have come to know and love the outdoor recreational facility, France Park, for its scenic trails, waterfall, clear swimming lake with picturesque cliffs, quiet fishing areas, and spacious camping facilities. The 7-10 miles of trails are active all year long with hiking, mountain biking, and winter-time cross-country skiing. The swimming lake is an abandoned spring-fed quarry that attracts SCUBA divers from far away. France Park offers the camping enthusiast both primitive and modern camping with bathrooms, showers, water and electrical hook-ups.

YEAR - ROUND ACTIVITIES
18 Hole Disc Golf Course
An 18 hole disc golf course is located in the northwest corner of the park; tees and baskets are clearly marked. Tournaments are scheduled regularly. Discs can be borrowed at gatehouse for a $5.00 refundable deposit.
Wildlife Observation
Wildlife enthusiasts will enjoy a wide variety of fauna and flora at France Park at either the Ken Bennett Wildlife Viewing Building or our 40+ acres of prairie. Over 75 different species of birds (including wild turkey and pileated woodpecker) have been counted in addition to deer, beaver, raccoon, squirrel, muskrat, turtles and other reptiles. Bald eagles have been spotted during spring and fall migrations.
Check out the Ken Bennett Wildlife Viewing Building! It has recently been renovated and will be open weekends from 10-2. Near the "upper triangle" located off the beach road, (across from the Flory Shelter). It houses activities and exhibits, overlooks the path of the old Erie Canal and its one-way viewing glass makes it an excellent place to observe denizens of the park. It can be opened at other times upon request at the gatehouse.
