Frank Lloyd Wright's Darwin D. Martin House Complex
Considered Frank Lloyd Wright's greatest "Prairie House," this five-structure complex was designed and built from 1903 to 1905. The 394 art glass windows, a Wright trademark, along with his horizontal lines and sharp angles, are pleasing to Wright novices and devotees alike. The Martin House Complex is being restored to its 1907 condition. Wright called the Martin House his "opus," and had its plan tacked above his drafting board for decades. The complex consists of the main Martin House, a pergola, conservatory and carriage house, the Barton House and Gardener's Cottage.
