A Museum Like No Other In Gettysburg PA!

"See one of the most extensive private collections of artifacts from the American Civil War, World War I, World War II, Presidencies and Pop Culture."

The Gettysburg Museum Of History is an American history museum specializing in military and political history. We currently have over 4,000 artifacts on display. Although the American Civil War is a major part of the Museum, we also have displays of other areas of American history. Our goal is to have exhibits that appeal to everyone. Education and information presented by seeing original artifacts is what we are all about. Our exhibits are modeled after the museums of the old days. We are artifact based, with less interpretation and more artifacts. Just like the museums of yesteryear. The museum is in an original historic Civil War period building located in the heart of historic Gettysburg, PA. The Gettysburg Museum Of History is very actively collecting new artifacts everyday. You will always see more artifacts here every time you visit. WE ARE ALSO BUYING ARTIFACTS! IF YOU HAVE ITEMS FOR SALE PLEASE LET US KNOW! THANK YOU.

The Gettysburg Museum of History and its curator, Erik L Dorr, have been featured on many TV shows, including The Haunted Collector, American Pickers, and Pawn Stars.

About Curator Erik L Dorr

The museum was founded by its curator, Erik L. Dorr. The museum is located in the former residence of Mr. Dorr's grandfather, who previously owned a farm lopcated on the battlefield. The museum's collections started from Mr. Dorr collecting artifacts on the farm, especially after the fields has been plowed (note, this practice of collecting artifacts is no longer legal). As a young man, Mr. Dorr amassed a modest collection of civil war artifacts from reenactments and trading. The collection grew as he added the Fred G. Pfeffer Collection of Gettysburg relics from Pickett's charge. Today, Mr. Dorr's museum displays one of the largest collections of Civil War, World War I, World War II, Presidential and Pop Culture relics and memorabilia displayed in a private museum. The Gettysburg Museum of History remains a free museum, funding its operations through the sale of artifacts and merchandise to museum visitors.
