Glass House Inn

Thank You! Your rating has been saved.

In 1955 Mr. and Mrs. George Glass built an 18 room motel named Glass Motel. In 1957 they sold the establishment to my grandparents Leo and Helen Szymanowicz. They built 12 more rooms and added an enclosed lobby. My parents Joseph and Fran Szymanwicz then purchased the motel in 1970 and ran it until 1987. The pool was added on their watch as well as many room updates like Erie's first remote controlled TV sets in hotel rooms. In 1987 my husband Tim and I moved into our present position as third generation owners. All three of our daughters grew up in the business and have learned from the ground up, first working as housekeepers then the front desk. They still work with us so you might get to meet them when you stay.

Tim and I feel blessed to meet so many wonderful people. Our small motel offers accomdations that the other Erie PA hotels do plus we have the personal touch that is lost in those bigger franchised places. We hope to meet you when you stay at "our house" the Glass House Inn. We are one of Erie's hotel treasures
