Great Lakes Children’s Museum
The Great Lakes Children's Museum is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization with the demonstrated ability to create high-quality, hands-on, educational experiences for the youth and families of Northern Lower Michigan, as well as for the many visitors to our area.
Conveniently located less than 2 miles from downtown Traverse City, with plenty of free parking, captivating exhibits and activities, special programs, and nearby parks and child-friendly eateries, the Museum makes a wonderful all-season destination for families and groups.
Mission
The Great Lakes Children's Museum creates hands-on, interactive, and informal educational environments for children and the adults in their lives that invite curiosity, allow exploration, encourage participation, and celebrate the child-like wonder in all of us.
Parties
The Great Lakes Children's Museum is available to rent for a child's birthday party, or for an after-hours event for grownups or families.
If you hold your event during Museum hours, you will have exclusive use of the Great Lakes Activity Room while the rest of the Museum remains open to other visitors.
The Great Lakes Activity Room is ideal for games, refreshments, and gift-opening, while the interactive galleries provide educational fun for all ages!
If you hold your event after we close, you will have exclusive use of the entire Museum!
