Guido’s Fresh Marketplace
For more than thirty years, Guido's Fresh Marketplace has been the premier purveyor of quality produce in Berkshire County and neighboring areas. In 1979, brothers Chris and Matt Masiero combined their backgrounds in culinary arts and produce retailing to christen the original Guido's. From this humble roadside stand on Route 7 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, the Masiero brothers set about the business of bringing exceptionally fresh, robust produce to Western Massachusetts.
Within the brief span of two years, the Masiero brothers outgrew their little seasonal market. In 1983, just south of the original Guido's on Route 7 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, Matt and Chris debuted Guido's Fresh Marketplace, where vendors specializing in meat, fish, flowers and prepared foods joined forces with produce to assemble a comprehensive, old-world style food emporium. The marketplace soon became a destination for the discriminating food shopper, drawing Guido's fans from near and far.
