The mission of the Hastings Public Library is to enhance the quality of life for our community by providing personalized, open access to the world of information and ideas.
Library computer use
The Library has 13 computers available for public use with both black & white and color laser printers installed for printing. Software installed on the computers for use include Internet Explorer, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. Some of the computers also have Magic School Bus software installed. Adams County residents must have their library card and PIN to use the computers. Out of county residents must present photo ID to use the computers and will be issued a guest user number for each day.
Wireless Internet access is available throughout the public areas of the library. Any person with a wireless card in their laptop or other wireless device may use the Internet free of charge by connecting through the "hpl_wireless" network.
MEETING ROOMS
The library has two meeting rooms available for public use at no charge.
Mission statement
The mission of the Hastings Library Foundation is to acquire, apply, expend, and use gifts, grants and property for the use and benefit of the Hastings Public Library by managing, investing, reinvesting, exchanging, and/or selling these holdings, subject to the approval of the governing body of the library.
Nonprofit information
The Hastings Library Foundation is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation, founded in 1978. It is governed by federal and state laws regulating non-profit corporations.
