Hickory Ridge Public Golf Center
The beautiful 18 hole championship public golf course will offer a challenge to golfers of all skill levels. Hickory Ridge is a unique course where the fairways are long, the sand and water hazards are demanding and the greens are smooth. The next time you want to play a challenging round of golf, try and beat par at the Hickory Ridge Public Golf Center.
The Carbondale Park District opened the Hickory Ridge Golf Center Clubhouse in late March 2004. Come in and check out the facilities including the pro shop and on-site restaurant.
The Pro Shop provides an expanded selection of popular brand name accessories, equipment and clothing that will satisfy all of your golfing needs.
The on-site restaurant offers a menu of hot sandwiches, basket combinations, and a selection of cold sandwiches. The menu will be expanded as customers offer their input on food favorites. The restaurant is open for lunch and early supper dining. The restaurant will seat 100 guests. An outdoor terrace area offers additional seating and a late afternoon view of a Southern Illinois sunset.
Junior Golf
The Carbondale Park District sponsors a second junior clinic. The focus of the junior clinic is to continue the growth and interest of kids with golf. Like the Hook A Kid on Golf clinic the focus is on rules, etiquette, and the fundamentals of the golf swing. The clinic is 4 days in length and is generally held the third week in June. The applications will be available in mid March at Hickory Ridge Golf Center and the LIFE Community Center. The age for participating is 8 to 18.
