Located on scenic Grenada Lake, Hugh White State Park offers the finest outdoor recreation amenities available, all nestled in a setting unmatched in natural beauty. Grenada Lake is best known as a haven for crappie fishermen, but is also well-stocked with bass, bream, and catfish. Hugh White State Park is centrally located between Memphis, Tennessee and Jackson, Mississippi.

Developed Camping

The 158 developed camping sites are located at a shaded area near the Outlet Channel below the Grenada Lake Dam. Each site features water, electrical hook-ups, picnic tables, and grills. Hot showers are available in four bathhouses, and a central sewage dumping station is located in the developed camping area. All sites are available for reservations up to 24-months and are highly recommended. Campground Office: (662) 226-8963 Monthly camping may be available. Golf

The Dogwoods Golf Course at Hugh White State Park takes full advantage of the natural beauty surrounding Grenada Lake. Deep woods enclose rolling fairways leading to large, inviting greens. This championship 18-hole course features a variety of tee boxes, giving each hole a different look and play. The hilly layout demands sharp skills and accurate ball-striking.A nature lover's course, The Dogwoods was carved out of the forrest, with only necessary clearing. The Dogwoods Pro Shop accepts tee time reservations up to two weeks in advance and may be reached by calling (662) 226-4123.

Visitor/Activity Building

The visitor's center houses the park office and a meeting room suitable for business meetings or group gatherings. Contact the park office for specific information on facilities, seating capacity, reservations and costs: (662) 226-4934.

Picnic Area/Pavilions

Hugh White features 30 picnic sites affording views of Grenada Lake, each equipped with tables and barbecue grills. A small covered picnic pavilion suitable for groups of 20 or less may be reserved by contacting the park office: (662) 226-4934.

Playground

Several playgrounds are located throughout the Park.

Boat Launching

Grenada Lake is recognized throughout the South as a hot spot for crappie, and is also stocked with bass, bream and catfish. The boat launching ramp is open year-round. The boat ramp at Carver Point is closed.

Alert: Grenada Lake water levels are controlled by the US Army Corp of Engineers. Generally the lake is lowered for flood control starting on July 1 to January 1 and starts its rise back to recreation pool level. At Hugh White State Park, dependent upon rainfall generally the boat ramps are not usable November 1 to March 1 of each year. Many boat launch ramps are inoperable during this time however, there are always low water ramps on the lake that are useable and available. Water skiing

Unrestricted water skiing is permitted in all areas of Grenada Lake.

Fishing

Grenada Lake offers 64,000 acres of fresh water for fishing and water sports. The lake is recognized throughout the South as a hot spot for crappie fishermen, and is also stocked with bass, bream and catfish. Numerous coves, inlets and the waters below the dam offer excellent opportunities for both weekend enthusiasts and serious anglers. A Mississippi fishing license is required for all persons between the ages of 16 and 65. Licenses may be purchased at the park office for a nominal fee.

Day Use

A day use entry fee is charged on a per vehicle basis.
