About the Imperial Centre
The Imperial Centre for the Arts & Sciences, located in downtown Rocky Mount, is one of the premier cultural facilities on the eastern seaboard. Occupying the combined former sites of the Imperial Tobacco company and old Braswell Memorial Library in downtown Rocky Mount, the complex houses an Arts Center, Children's Museum & Science Center, and community performing arts theatre. The 135,000 square foot facility involved the historic restoration and renovation of the old buildings which had been dormant for more than 50 years. Completion of the project spanned two years and resulted in a state-of-the-art facility that preserves the historic aspects of the original buildings.

Business Meetings & Corporate Events
The Imperial Centre, Theatre, Studio Theatre, Fiber Studio, Art Studio and Museum Classrooms serve as perfect settings for banquets, educational forums, business meetings, conferences and seminars. There are spaces for smaller, private meetings as well as spaces for groups as large as 300. The Fiber Studio or the Friends with Heart Classroom are perfect for that private board meeting. The Main Common Area is the ultimate banquet facility for a maximum of 200 people.

The Imperial Centre, the Theatre Lobby, Theatre Terrace, Sculpture Courtyard and Museum Courtyard are beautiful settings for parties, reunions, wedding receptions or rehearsal dinners. A unique historic building, the Imperial Centre is an affordable option for any event. The Theatre Lobby is a warm and intimate setting for any reception for a maximum of 100 people.
