Impromptu Players Community Theater
Impromptu Players Community Theater is a non-profit organization that produces three live plays each year. It is run by volunteers and a 10 member board of directors. The Theater is located at 102 East First Street, DeRidder, Louisiana 70634. The phone number is 337-462-2751.
Two plays have dinners at 3 of the 5 performances and one play does not have dinner.
Impromptu Players is proud to claim DeRidder, Louisiana as it's home. At the conclusion of this 2011 season, the community supported the performing arts for 29 years by volunteering their time, by supporting the theater financially through buying tickets, by making donations, and best of all -- attending the performances.
Some of the prior productions include: Sound of Music, Nunsense, You're A good Man Charlie Brown, Rumors, Play On, Cemetary Club, Daddy's Dyin', Who's Got The Will, Trailer Park Broadcasting, Cats, Arsenic and Old Lace, and MouseTrap to name a few.
Many fine community people have passed through their doors, gracing their Stage with fine performances as well as pitching in for behind the scenes work such as building a set, light and sound execution, prop collection, costume making, make-up, helping with dinner theater, right to raising the curtain. They welcome all newcomers and are always looking for new talent on stage and off.
If you are interested in more information about becoming a theater volunteer or would like to be a season ticket holder, contact Anna Wiggins at 337-462-2751.
All performances are open to the general public.
