James-Ben Studio & Gallery Art Center is an acclaimed gallery and award-winning working artist studio located on historic Morgan Square in Greeneville, Tennessee. Readers of Marquee Magazine recently voted us the #1 Gallery in the Mountain South. A renovated 1890's Fire Hall on historic Morgan Square houses an eclectic collection with prices that vary as much as the art.

The Art Center features:

• Works by 150 Tennessee artists and artisans

• Classes in various media

• Fine jewelry created by commission

• Artisan Cooking School

• Art and Jewelry Appraisals

The Gallery

Appraisals: The Art Center is eminently qualified for and has done appraisals of art works for the past 15 years. Unlike other appraisers, we DO NOT base our fees on a percentage of the work's value. These set fees are $30 per inspection to ascertain if a work is worthy of full appraisal. If that is the case, the written appraisal is then $100 per work with the inspection fee credited to your final total.

Your day in Historic Downtown Greeneville isn't complete without a visit to the "old corner drug store," now home to James-Ben Studio & Gallery Art Center. Once inside, the celebration of Tennessee artists delights your senses with original works that range from the elegantly classical to the eclectically unique. You've found "Greeneville's regional art gallery!" Now is the perfect opportunity for gifting the unexpected and collecting the unusual.

James-Ben Studio & Gallery Art Center brings our working jewelry studio together with the creations of more than 140 artists and artisans, most of them Tennesseans, some with national reputations, and all of regional caliber. Their work is here because we admire it and think it worthy of your appreciation. The happy coincidence is that our eclectic tastes satisfy our own sensibilities as well as the customer's desire for rich variety. Take the time to look carefully; behind every object is an individual artist with distinctive creativity, and its expression through the perspective of each work.

Bring your children and teach them that beautiful things can always be touched with the eyes. Since we believe you should have magic in every price range, you'll find the perfect gift for any budget. Stained glass sparkles in the windows and indoor fountains sing trickling water songs. Photographers turn walls into windows. Impressionist paintings bring distant beauty across time and space.

The renovated "old corner drug store," with its patterned tin ceiling and brick interior walls, has over 1,000 square feet of remarkable show space. More than 100 years of human energy is stored within and echoed by the creativity of the current generation. Footsore travellers have been heard to say, "Oh, my." The most jaded of teenagers will utter their highest praise: "Cool."

At James-Ben Studio & Gallery Art Center, 21st century art resides in 19th century Greeneville, resulting in a sumptuous feast for the eyes and ears. Partners James-Ben Stockton and Daniel Luther bring many years of dedication to the arts into creating a gallery experience that is comfortable, personal, and rewarding. Stockton is an award-winning, internationally collected designer/artisan who has operated his jewelry studio since 1972. Luther directs his theatrical and writing skills toward promoting the arts in all forms. Together, they opened James-Ben Studio and Gallery in 1992.
