The Kalamazoo Nature Center is a not-for-profit organization located in Kalamazoo, Michigan whose mission is to inspire people to care for the environment by providing experiences that lead them to understand their connection to the natural world.
Vision Statement: The Kalamazoo Nature Center will be internationally recognized as the premier source for environmental information, education and research to achieve a world respectful of its surroundings.
Today The Kalamazoo Nature Center, recognized by its peers as one of the top nature centers in the country, has expanded to include 1,100 acres of wooded, rolling countryside five miles north of Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Dr. Willard Rose, Kalamazoo Nature Center President & CEO, has received the prestigious Leadership Award from the Association of Nature Center Administrators. The award recognizes outstanding professionals in a top leadership role in the field of nature center administration. This international award recognizes years of service, contributions to the profession, and accomplishments based on leadership. For 21 years, Bill has lead the Kalamazoo Nature Center as only its second President & CEO. In addition to his work here, Bill has mentored many other nature center leaders across the country with his expertise in governance, marketing, programming, design, and construction.
