Salina's premier aquatic park, Kenwood Cove, is operated and managed by the City of Salina, Department of Parks and Recreation and funded by local residents. Development of Kenwood Cove, the area's largest aquatic park, occurred between 2008 and 2010. The park officially opened to the public on June 5, 2010.
