Kidsgrove

Thank You! Your rating has been saved.

Kidsgrove is a beautiful, unique, all wooden playground located in the Selinsgrove Boro. We are proud to be a smoke free and alcohol free facility. We are also a fully handicapped accessible playground with sidewalks throughout with ramps into the play areas. We also have a handicapped accessible sandbox and swing.

Kidsgrove was built in five days, from Sept. 17 - 21, 1997, by hundreds of volunteers each day from Selinsgrove and the surrounding communities. Richard "Dick" Norman had a dream to build this playground and after two years of planning, designing and fund raising his dreams came true. Anyone who has been to Kidsgrove has most likely seen Dick , or as some call him, "Mr. Kidsgrove" hard at work building MiniTown, painting, mulching, planting flowers, pulling weeds or anything else that needs to be done. He is the heart and soul of Kidsgrove and we don't know what we would do without him.

Kidsgrove is constantly changing from year to year with new things to see and do. Since the playground was built 15 years ago we have added two parking lots, restrooms, three pergolas, swings and seating for the parents, a pavilion, the stage, a bike rack, picnic areas, many beautiful flower beds, the train area, rubber matting in the toddler area, and of course MiniTown. All of these additions would not have been possible without donations from very generous individuals, organizations and businesses in the area. We are also very dependent on volunteers to help us with everything from weeding and planting flowers to painting, sanding and building.

The playground is not maintained by the boro and no local tax dollars are used in the upkeep or the ongoing improvements and additions. Kidsgrove, Inc.* is the group responsible for making sure the playground is maintained and kept safe for your children.

Exciting News!!!!!

We were able to raise the necessary funds and have purchased the Neos Wall which is manufactured by PlayWorld Systems in Lewisburg, PA. We have also purchased a Neos Ring for the younger children. They will be installed this summer, 2013!!!!
