Lake Superior Youth Theatre Mission: Our mission is to empower young people to maximize their potential through performance arts training and the creation of outstanding theatrical and musical art.
Description
Lake Superior Theatre's mission is to produce original and historical musical theatre and to showcase local, regional and national cast and crew. Our strategies include conducting arts and education outreach programs and introducing audiences to live theatre performances. Our goal is to keep our ticket prices affordable so families can attend. We rely on ticket sales, community support and donations to continue our operations as a summer theatre. The Frazier's Lake Superior Theatre Boathouse is a unique venue for our theatre and adds a wonderful ambiance to the plays. We feel that many persons attend our productions because of the unique location, located on the shores of Lake Superior, who would not otherwise attend a play at another venue.
Our youth theatre has been based on the following belief: Young people gain confidence and learn commitment, responsibility, commitment and teamwork skills that are critical to their success in school and in life.
Lake Superior Theatre Inc. was founded through the office of The City of Marquette Arts and Culture Center in 1998 to produce an original play for the City of Marquette Sesquicentennial celebrations. Lake Superior Theatre has been a sustainable and viable organization for the past thirteen years in Marquette presenting and preserving our history through live theatrical presentations and events.
