Lakeland Center
The Lakeland Center is an 8,178-seat multi-purpose arena, in Lakeland, Florida. It opened in November 1974, as the Lakeland Civic Center, it gained its current name in June 1994
It was home to the Lakeland Loggerheads ice hockey team from 2003 until 2004 and later the Lakeland Thunderbolts indoor football team from 2005 until 2007. Starting in 2012, it will be home of the Lakeland Raiders in the Ultimate Indoor Football League.
The arena played host to The Rolling Thunder Revue Tour, on March 18, 1976, headed by Bob Dylan.
It was here where KISS guitarist Ace Frehley was nearly electrocuted, during a concert on December 11, 1976.
The arena hosted both opening dates for The Rolling Stones US Tour 1978 and Kiss' Dynasty Tour in 1979.
The Grateful Dead performed at the arena on May 21, 1977. The show makes up half of the archival live album, Dick's Picks Volume 29.
U2 rehearsed for and opened their Zoo TV tour in February 1992.
The arena has hosted many professional wrestling events by WCW and WWE.
