Thank You! Your rating has been saved.

The Laurel County Kentucky Historical Society's purpose is to collect and maintain as many records and as much information about Laurel County's history and people as possible and to make this collection available to Laurel Countians and visitors who seek it. We specialize in

genealogical research. Our library contains many volumes of reference materials, family histories, old photos and newspapers, as well as records on microfilm, microfiche, and CD-Rom.

The Society also has many donated artifacts, some on display and some in storage while we prepare our museum for the public.

The Society continues to transcribe and publish census, marriage, cemetery and old newspaper records of Laurel County, along with its quarterly newsletter, Branches of Laurel.

Services We Provide

Genealogical Research - We assist visitors to the library in this area. If you are unable to visit but would like research done e-mail us at lchistsoc@windstream.net or send a letter to 310 West 3rd Street London, KY 40741. . We will provide approximately an hour of research at no cost except for copies (25 cents each) and shipping and handling charges.

Since the society is all volunteers you may not get an immediate reply. It helps if you ask specific questions and give us enough information to permit us to do the research.

Storage of Artifacts and Documents - We will gladly make copies of family photos at no charge and store them or you may donate originals if you wish.
