There are numerous exhibits within the spacious interior of the museum. There is information on early inhabitants, Native Americans, and on local Confederate soldiers. The docent on duty gave us a brief history of the library, and its life as a museum.

This year the Society celebrates 46 years as an integral part of the community in Laurens County, Georgia, linking the past to the future. The

Organization began in 1967 as a successor to the 1966 Carnegie Library Preservation Committee. Its ongoing purpose is to collect and preserve the history and artifacts of all of Laurens County.

The museum is operated by the Laurens County Historical Society. The Historical Society was founded in 1967

The Laurens County Historical Society, Inc. is a non-profit, tax exempt corporation chartered by the Georgia Secretary of State. All gifts and

contributions to the Society are tax deductible.

Effective December 2012 the Museum is being renovated and the Society is temporarily moving to a location on the Courthouse Square in Dublin. The Museum will reopen later this year upon the completion of the renovations.
