The Louisiana Children's Museum promotes hands-on participatory learning for children of all ages. Encouraging discovery through observation, inquiry, creative construction, role-playing, problem-solving and free play, the Museum motivates children to develop their cognitive, physical and social skills while enjoying fruitful interaction with adults and peers.

Reaching children in their most important years of intellectual development. A focus on early education instills in children the skills vital to success not just in school, but in a lifelong journey of learning.

Fostering relationships between children and family, caregivers, and educators. One of LCM's major goals is to bring together various communities within our greater community through shared experience.

The "stickiness factor." As Malcolm Gladwell described in his book The Tipping Point, the specific content of a message can make it memorable. LCM aims to combine education with enjoyment in a way that leads not only to effective learning, but to lasting memories as well.
