Mainly Manitowoc (Downtown Manitowoc)
Mainly Manitowoc is a grassroots group of enthusiastic individuals interested in the economic revitalization of downtown Manitowoc utilizing the Wisconsin Main Street Program as its framework.
Mission
Mainly Manitowoc's mission is to promote the overall economy and quality of life for the City of Manitowoc by engaging the community in an effort to preserve and revitalize downtown through the Main Street Program's Four Point Approach.

Our vision and work plan for the downtown is comprehensive and was drafted through assistance from the Wisconsin Main Street Program.
Main Street District
The Mainly Manitowoc Main Street District is encompasses a 34-block area of downtown Manitowoc. The District includes a cohesive area of historic and older buildings anchored by the Eighth Street Historic District. Buildings within the District fall primarily in an 80 year span roughly from 1853 to 1939 including 201 buildings, 94 of which are in the Eighth Street Historic District.
History
In the fall of 2007, a group of enthusiastic individuals got together to pursue the Wisconsin Main Street Program, a proven framework of economically revitalizing downtown. This group of individuals wrote a detailed application, gave a presentation to the Wisconsin Main Street Council and fundraised to meet the requirements of the program. Mainly Manitowoc was selected as one of three communities to participate in the Wisconsin Main Street Program in the summer of 2008. In the fall of 2008, the Mainly Manitowoc Board of Directors was established and its first Executive Director, Jamie Zastrow, was hired.
